5 ways to combat end of year burnout like a pro
The end of the year is always a time of reflection for me. I often think about my own dance journey, particularly the times when the music seemed too loud and the steps felt too fast!
It's a little bit like burnout. End-of-year burnout is real, especially in our world. It's a season where recitals, showcases, and planning for the new year create a perfect storm for stress and exhaustion.
But remember, every dancer needs a moment to breathe - and so do business owners.
Five ways to combat end-of-year burnout
Prioritize Self-Care: This isn't about indulgence; it's about survival. Schedule time for activities that recharge you – a walk, a quiet coffee, a session of your favorite dance for fun, not work.
Delegate and Trust: You've built a capable team; now trust them. Delegate tasks that don't require your unique touch. It's time to let your team shine, giving you space to breathe.
Reflect and Appreciate: Take a moment to look back at the year. Celebrate your achievements, no matter how small. Reflecting on the positive journey can be incredibly rejuvenating.
Set Boundaries: Learn to say no. It's okay not to be part of every decision and action. Protecting your time and energy is crucial to keep your love for dance burning bright.
Plan for Downtime: Schedule some downtime post the busy season. Whether it's a short getaway or a 'studio closed' day, make sure you have a breather awaiting you.
